Staycation Review: Quincy Hotel, Singapore

First published on TripZillaStays, in collaboration with Far East Hospitality.

Staycation highlights:

● All-Day light refreshments + free-flow evening cocktails
● Complimentary couple activities
● Saturday Movie Nights by the Pool

The Hotel

Like all couples, my boyfriend and I are always on the lookout for fun things to do together on our precious date weekends. So when we stumbled across Quincy Hotel’s Qool Weekend Package, how could we resist?

The Qool Weekend Package is no ordinary staycation, mind you; it comes with a 2D1N stay inclusive of buffet breakfast for 2, All-Day light refreshments, evening (free-flow!) cocktails, as well as a complimentary in-room mini-bar that’s replenished daily. On top of that, couples can even choose to participate in an Art Jamming session and cuddle up during Movie Night by the Pool on Saturdays at 9pm. As if that isn’t enough, the package even gifts each couple with a bath treat from LUSH (bath bomb/bubble bath).

Room Choices

Studio Room

We stayed in a Studio Room, which was a brightly-lit spacious room that didn’t shortchange on the cosiness factor as well. Our favourite part was the bay window seat positioned right next to giant windows. We loved how the seat was just the right size for both of us to sit on and watch TV comfortably!

We loved how the room had both a bathtub and a rain-shower; all we needed to do was to put on some music, throw in the complimentary bath bomb from LUSH and let the tub fill with bubbles.

Studio Deluxe Room

The Studio Deluxe Room is the larger counterpart of the Studio Room. Besides being larger in size, it comes with a comfy plush chair as well as a Nespresso coffee machine!

Every room comes with a complimentary in-room mini-bar that offers soft drinks, soya milk, chips and even beer. The best part? All these are replenished daily. This is our first time finding a free mini-bar – all our woes of staring longingly at the overpriced drinks in the mini-bar are long gone, because now everything inside was free for our taking!

Things to Do in the Hotel

Complimentary couple activities

This was the highlight of our stay – an Art Jamming session from 3-4pm. Available for Qool Weekend guests who check in on Fridays, Saturdays and Public Holidays only - all your art materials are provided and we even got to bring home that artful piece of staycation memory.

We got all dolled up, and got right down to unleashing our inner Picasso. Remember to book your slots in advance to ensure availability!

Laze in the Infinity Pool

The hotel has an infinity pool that is open round the clock – that’s right, it’s opened 24-hours! Feast your eyes on splendid panoramic views of Orchard Road and its surroundings whilst you float languidly in the pool.

There are even 2 floats up for grabs. The pool area is equipped with coffee machines, as well as lots of water and isotonic drinks. We thought this was a really nice touch!

Work out in the Gym

The gym lies adjacent to the pool, which is open round-the-clock and perfect for a late-night workout. It’s fitted with all the equipment you could possibly need – treadmills, bench presses, weights and so on.

Sweat it Out in the Sauna

There is also a steam bath and sauna that is free for all guests to use. We loved warming up in here after our chilly swim!

Movie Nights By the Pool

On Saturdays, there are Movie Nights by the Pool - where you can actually watch from the pool itself. During our stay, Jurassic World was screened and it was really fun watching the dinosaurs run wild whilst bobbing on our floats.

The staff handed out chips at the start of the movie as well, which was great for the whole experience!

Enjoy All-Day Light Refreshments at the Lobby

‘The Lobby’ on the first floor serves All-Day light refreshments and buffet breakfast in the mornings, as well as light lunches and dinners. The All-Day light refreshments include a DIY soft-serve machine as well as juices, muffins, nuts, cookies and the like.

Enjoy free-flow evening cocktails at the Lobby

The choices vary daily, but we dined on pasta, nasi goreng, grilled shrimps, canapés as well as cheese and crackers during our stay. We chose to dine al fresco for the added feels; resulting in a lovely evening munching on our food and downing glass after glass of wine.

Things to Do in the Area

There’s really not much reason for you to leave Quincy Hotel but should you wish to, Orchard Road and Newton Hawker Centre are both just a stone’s throw away.

Feast your eyes on panoramic views from ION Sky

Did you know that there was a free observatory nestled in the middle of all the glittering malls along Orchard Road? Gaze down at the streets below from ION Sky, which is located 56 levels above ground.

Eat your heart out at Newton Hawker Centre

No visit to Singapore is complete without a good old hawker meal. Enough said!
